Coming Soon

This is the first post, in that most antiquated part of the web that still exists, the web log. The kids today call them blogs.

Anyway, this has a fairly finite purpose, which is to act as a feed into Luui, the video based learning app that has been the focus of two years or more of continuous development. These pages will appear in the Welcome screen of the app. In fact, you can see this post in the image above, of the What’s New section, right up on top. This is how this blog will share the space with posts from our Substack, The AVM Newsletter. That’s what we’ve kept up for the last few years, as this site has languished.

The languishing is over, more or less. The last week has been a fairly focused revamp of the site, structured around our “the operating system for learning together”, which permeates across different sections: “the operating system for optimism” for instance. it turns out that in this day and age, the website remains an expected part of web presence.

It makes sense, but only partly: it must be more than a decade since we became aware of companies and people not establishing a web domain, but simply being available in social media. For me, social media is a toxic sludge that I prefer not to spread on my cereal and cuddle up with on the couch. Substack, sort of occupying the middle ground between blog and social, suits me better.

So, the actual dividing line that determines what this blog actually is for, isn’t 100% clear. I think this will be more short-form, maybe a lede into the longer posts: and more concerned with the future feature development of Luui. But for now, here we are.
